“The generosity of the Hamel Scholarship will help me achieve my dream of becoming a nurse at Penn State. The funds will help alleviate the long-term burden of education expenses.” —Paige Murphy
Superintendent Brandon Murphy’s daughter, Paige, has always been interested in anatomy and physiology and knew she wanted to help people. Pursuing a nursing degree at Penn State made sense. Fall 2020, Paige will be a part of 130 first-year students at the Penn State College of Nursing. In 4 years, she will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and sit for the state board NCLEX-RN exam to become a registered nurse ready to work in the medical field.
